Interim (Kastrup)

2013

Programmed Animation, shown as a part of Rundgang 2013 at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Visual Arts, Copenhagen, DK

Interim is a work that shows the flights in and out of a city, here Copenhagen, in real time over 24 hours. The lines that appear in the animation, which is projected onto a wall, are the flights currently underway. All the lines going from the center outwards are leaving, in this case Copenhagen, and all the lines which has not yet reached the center are the ones inbound. The direction and distance of the destinations are the compass direction and distance from berlin scaled to fit on a screen. During the flight the line is continuously drawn, although it might take up to ten hours for the longest lines, and as soon as the flight lands, the line disappears.
